The PBS-250W PowerBoard Infrared Panel integrates directly into a standard 600×600mm ceiling grid, providing comfortable, radiant infrared heat at room level. Unlike convective heating systems, infrared heats objects and people directly — resulting in faster warmup times, reduced running costs, and zero maintenance. Each panel operates at 230V and can be individually zone-controlled via Loxone or standalone thermostats.

Why Infrared?

Infrared heating warms surfaces and people directly — not the air. This means faster warmup, lower heat loss through ventilation, and an even, comfortable warmth. Combined with smart thermostatic control, running costs are typically 30–40% lower than equivalent electric convective heating.

How it Works

Solar charges the battery during the day. During peak tariff hours or at night, the battery powers your home — eliminating grid import and maximising the value of every kWh you generate.

Solar → Battery (daytime)
Battery → Home (evening/night)

Why EPC / BER Rating Matters

  • UK rental law: Properties must achieve EPC E minimum now; C by 2030 (proposed). Non-compliance = fines up to £30,000
  • Ireland rental law: New tenancies must achieve BER D1 from Nov 2025; B2 for new leases from 2028 (SEAI)
  • Resale value: Each band improvement adds ~2–5% to market value (RICS / Savills data)
  • Green mortgages: A/B-rated properties qualify for 0.1–0.3% rate reductions with major lenders
  • Note: Figures are indicative. Exact EPC/BER requires a certified assessor (DEA/BER assessor)

How Fabric Affects System Sizing

The PBS-250W infrared panel system is sized based on floor area and building heat loss. Infrared panels heat occupants and surfaces directly — not the air — so sizing is typically 60–80% of equivalent convective requirements. Improved wall/roof insulation reduces the panel count needed and improves running costs further.
